26 Mar 2025 Announcements
The Ministry of Manpower has released the National WSH statistics for the year of 2024. Singapore’s performance remained among the top performing countries globally, with a five-year average workplace fatality rate of 1.1 per 100,000 workers. However, with 43 workplace fatalities in 2024, the fatality increased to 1.2 per 100,000 workers, from 0.99 in 2023.
The WSH Council has prepared a WSH Advisory based on the fatalities occurred in the second half of 2024[1,2]. Twenty workplace accidents[3] have been grouped across seven incident categories, with recommendations tailored to address each incident type.
We urge employers, supervisors and workers to learn from these incidents and adopt the recommendations to prevent future incidents from occurring.
