WSH Micro-learning Programme helps workers pass their CSOC recertification

05 Nov 2024 Announcements

Continuous learning in workplace safety and health (WSH) helps workers stay updated on WSH knowledge.  In this regard, the WSH Council introduced the WSH Micro-learning Programme (MLP) for workers to access WSH knowledge at any place and any time, in bite-sized modules.

Workers in the Construction industry who completed their MLP before their Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) recertification assessment achieved an average 80% pass rate on their first CSOC recertification attempt.

Those who did not do MLP beforehand had a lower pass rate of 57%.

The workers who did not pass their CSOC recertification would have to complete the full two-day "Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites" (AWSHCS) course, followed by the MLP, before being allowed to re-take the recertification assessment.

Therefore, sending your workers to attend MLP beforehand will prepare them better for the CSOC recertification, and could save you time and money from your workers going through the two-day AWSHCS again and to register for the MLP, upon failing the recertification.

Construction companies can register their workers for the MLP with either NTUC Learning Hub or SCAL Academy.
