WSH Advisory for Fatal Accidents in First Half of 2024

09 Oct 2024 Announcements

The Ministry of Manpower has released the national WSH statistics for the first half of 2024. Singapore's WSH performance continued to improve, building on the significant progress achieved in 2023. The annualised fatal injury rate per 100,000 workers held steady at 1.0, maintaining the level first achieved in 2023 (setting aside 2020 when COVID-19 disrupted work). Only four OECD countries – United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden, and Germany – have consistently achieved such performance.

The WSH Council has prepared a WSH Advisory based on the fatalities occurred in the first half of 2024. The fatalities are grouped based on incident types with recommendations tailored to address each incident type.

We urge employers, supervisors and workers to learn from these incidents and adopt the recommendations to prevent future incidents from occurring.
