Public Consultation for WSH Guidelines on the Preparation of Workplaces for Adverse Weather Conditions

10 Dec 2024 Announcements

Climate change has led to more frequent and erratic weather patterns. Such weather conditions have grown increasingly common in Singapore despite our geographical location. We have seen more incidents of strong winds and heavy rains dislodging improperly secured objects and toppling heavy equipment.

The WSH Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower and key industry partners, has developed the WSH Guidelines on the Preparation of Workplaces for Adverse Weather Conditions. This set of guidelines provides guidance for companies to prepare their worksites for adverse weather conditions such as strong winds and heavy rains. With adequate preparation, the hazards posed by adverse weather to workers and the public can be better mitigated.

We invite industry stakeholders and members of public to share your feedback on the draft WSH Guidelines on the Preparation of Workplaces for Adverse Weather Conditions before it is published. Please email the completed public consultation form to contact@wshc.sg by 10 January 2025.

Your views and insights will help us shape the future of workplace safety and health in Singapore.
