On 26 May 2023, the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council, together with Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates Singapore (MCMSG), organised a learning journey to facilitate the cross-sharing of information and good WSH practices between partners within the chemical industries.

More than 30 participants from over 18 companies discussed issues ranging from personal health and prevention of fall from heights, to personal risk assessment. During the event, participants learnt KAITEKI exercises to build better body posture and maintain mental alertness, and discussed learning points from two fall from height incidents that happened within a chemical process plant environment. MCMSG also shared their personal risk assessment card for workers, which helps them identify and categorise common work hazards, and the various control measures that they can take to eliminate or reduce safety risks.

This learning journey was an initiative by the Jurong Island Vision Zero (JIVZ) Cluster, which has a shared vision to drive down accidents and incident rates in the chemical industries.
